Pen Y Cae Surgery is a well-establish practice founded in 2005 and is situated on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Blaenau Gwent, the birth place of our NHS.  We are a newly accredited GP training practice and established teaching practice for medical students from Cardiff Medical School. We offer a happy work place where we operate in a supportive team – we actually don’t mind coming to work!     

Our GP team is made up of 3.75 WTE with 5 Partners and 1 salaried GP looking after 6,900 patients. Our GP’s are fully supported by an exceptional nursing team comprising of an ANP, Practice Nurse, 2 Health Care Assistants and a phlebotomist, practice based pharmacist,  excellent management and admin team who focus on supporting patients and clinicians.    We are dynamic, progressive, friendly and supportive practice who pride ourselves on high quality patient centred care and our involvement with our local neighbourhood care network.  

The practice is involved in a compassionate communities initiative with the local cluster group, being able to offer our patients social prescribing and we are fully supported by a practice link worker to assist in a wider community team approach to patient care.
